Ashley Au is a Winnipeg-based bassist, composer, arranger, and educator. Deeply rooted in the traditions of jazz, roots, funk, and hip-hop, Ashley’s basslines are soulful, organic, and heavy.
A multifaceted musician, she specializes in the upright and electric basses (4-string, 5-string, and fretless) as well as guitar, and is available for live gigs, subbing, touring, and recording.
When Ashley isn’t on the stage, she can be found in a dimly lit studio with headphones and stereo, absorbing the newest tracks and classic albums. This listening obsession isn’t limited by genre or decade and neither is her playing.
